The Windy River Farm is the newest 6000 square foot, lovingly restored country wedding venue located in Westfield, Vermont - just minutes from Jay Peak Resort. Situated on over 230 acres, the "Grand Dam" of Vermont barns sits majestically with a background of rolling hills, sprawling farm fields, our romantic winding river and untouched countryside. Common Questions
How many guests can the barn hold?
The barn will easily accommodate up to 250 guests.
Will there be staff on-site during my event?
Yes, there will be at least one staff member present on-site throughout the day and into the evening to help ensure you and your guests have a safe and enjoyable time on the property. They will also answer questions, tidy restroom facilities, and help with guest safety.
How do we reserve our date?
Please call us to make sure your date is open and we will be happy to explain our reservation policy.
What times do we have access to the barn on our event day?
You can arrive as early as 9:00 AM Eastern time. And all guests must depart by 11:00 PM Eastern time. Vendors must depart no later than midnight.

Use of the Barn
Will inclement weather ever be a consideration?
Never, the barn has all the necessary components that are inside and protected from any potential inclement weather.
Are there indoor washrooms?
Yes, there are traditional washrooms inside the main barn that are also handicapped accessible.
Is there backup power to the barn?
Yes. we have a backup generator if power is lost.
Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee?
​Yes, Custom made Farm tables and Chiavari Chairs are included in the rental fee.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed in the barn or on the deck, this includes vaping/e-cigarettes. Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas only outside the barn
Can we add additional decorations to the barn?
Yes, you are allowed to add decorations by using floral tape, pipe cleaners, twine, and small push pins.

Catering
Can we use the services of an outside caterer?
Yes, as long as they have all required permits and licenses including a Liquor License. However, we have a long and varied list of excellent caterers who do a wonderful job of serving at the barn. Please ask the wedding agent for our list of Approved Caterers and the Approved Bartending Service.
Can we supply our own food?
We do not allow self-catering or have the permission of the Vermont Health Department to cook food in the caterer’s prep area. All food must be prepared in advance in a licensed kitchen.
Is there a caterer's prep area?
Yes, we do have a prep area for caterers to use. However please note this is not a licensed kitchen and no cooking can take place inside the barn.
